Since the recent rebranding of the social media company, Facebook as Meta many people are speculating what the technology can be used for and debating about its pros and cons. In all the speculation about where this concept is headed, I think many gamers are excited for this and will play an active part in the upcoming change in gaming industry.
Although the advancement of this technology will certainly motivate new developers to make games specifically for the VR gaming industry I personally don’t think it will in any way affect the traditional way of gaming infront of a gaming monitor or a TV.
Some of the other benefits besides gaming that virtual reality can help with is fitness. Different virtual environments or games can help people motivate directly or indirectly to engage and enjoy doing a workout, and different physical activities. The kind of games which will be made for the Virtual World will differ to a certain degree when compared to modern day AAA titles.
But the kind of realistic graphics we want to see in it will I think depend on the demand and hardware used to access the metaverse eg. the RayBan glasses that Facebook thinks will be used to access the Virtual world, so I think theres still time before we get to see in Virtual environments as realistic as Cyberpunk2077 on a large scale.
The Metaverse isn’t a New Idea
Roblox and Club Penguin are one of the good examples on how we have already enjoyed gathering in communities, playing games, chatting with our friends with our own digital avatar except in this case limits and its uses are endless are endless in the case of Metaverse whether from one’s well being or entertainment.
I am Pratham Basava, founder of Lokkythegamer.
Lokkythegamer is a fairly new video game website that started a couple of years ago. My main motive behind starting this website was to provide latest content exclusively focused on gaming and eventually creating a platform useful aspiring video game bloggers and gaming enthusiasts to help publish their articles in front of wide range of audience. It is currently being managed by a me alone without any co-writers due to financial limits, which affects the amount of content I work on everyday including social media.
If you think you’ve got the enthusiasm for writing and sharing fandom articles of particular games or anything related to gaming, feel free to reach out to me through my website or any other social media pages linked above the notice.
