Sony will be replacing the old heatsink with a it’s smaller version in their upcoming new model mainly because as they struggled to drive down the cost of old ps5. In a recently published video of Austin Evans, in which he starts dismantling Sony’s new model of PS5 comparing the old model and new model of PS5 Japan.
According to Austin’s thermal testing, the new model of PS5 is producing 2 to 3 °C when compared to old one, as it’s obvious by looking at size difference of the heatsinks. The new model of PS5 weighs almost 300g less than the launch model.

This reduction in usage of material for the heatsink would certainly knock down the prices of the new PS5. Although it is possible that the new performance statistics of PS5 may vary due to regional manufacturing.
By looking at all of this makes the launch ps5 model more desirable. Although there is no official message from Sony on this issue.
By seeing these statistics and changes, the launch model seems to be much more desirable and harder to find now that it has stopped selling the $499 models after over 20 million units sold.
Hi there, I am Pratham Basava, owner and the founder of Lokkythegamer

It is currently being managed by a me alone without any co-writers due to financial limits, which affects the amount of content I work on everyday including social media.
Signing up on website, and checking out our social media would provide me great support and huge morale boost to keep going.
Any kind of suggestions or feedback regarding user experience on the website are highly appreciated.
