According to a recent tweet by Ryan K. Rigney new players will now be charged to access ranked in CS:GO.
“CS:GO is now charging for access to ranked(among other things). I imagine this would make it much more costly for cheaters who get banned to make a new account and continue cheating system.” said Ryan K. Rigney
Despite a big portion didn’t like the idea , a staggering 47.2% of voters thought that it was a good idea and think paying to compete in Ranked is better than facing these annoying cheaters who ruin the special gaming moments during matches.
This new Prime Upgrade system is introduced to eliminate hackers because of the increased amount of hacker and complaints about them has increased recently.
Previously, it was very easy for cheaters to reappear and cause problems in matches and tournaments through multiple accounts if they get banned from one. But now after this new system it will become more costlier for hackers to carry on with the system as they have to keep paying to play ranked CS:GO.
“Prime benefits have become an incentive for bad actors to hurt the experience of both new and existing players.” explained one of the developers in a blog.
