League of Legends is one of the most popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games. As per Riot Games, it peaks at nearly 8 million concurrent players daily. With so many number of players, obviously there are countless number of experienced players. If you are looking to improve your own ranked play below are the critical factors you need to improve to quickly grow up the ladder.
Pick the Right Champion
It’s always important to pick the same champions in every single rank. Most of the players don’t keep this consistency and keep changing the champions for the first time in ranked.
For your chosen role, focus on playing a maximum three (3) champions and don’t deviate unless you are autofilled. Even though you feel with some other champions you can do a good job, it is important to understand that your best champion will always net you higher chances of winning.
Choose a champion you are comfortable playing on. It is easier for you to do multitasking so that you can trade and farm while constantly taking a peak your minimap.
Also focus on the champions with relatively simple kits, that don’t force you to play perfectly to win. We all know that everyone makes mistakes and the competition is all about making as little and less mistakes as possible. Playing the champions at your best is important to win the game.
Farming
Even though least appealing, Farming is one important concept for anyone not playing support. The better players often have higher creep scores which let them carry the games easier and climbing the ranks quickly.
As we all know CSing is the most efficient way to get gold in the game and you need only 15 CS to get gold equal to a single kill. So if you farm really well it will pile up. The killing of minions and monsters will also grants you the experience.
Item Builds
Build the Items you based on what you need. It is very important to you’re your builds and how to adapt them. Some of the items are situational but they are very important for the win. For example: “Grievous Wounds” items should be built against heavy healers, Armor should be built against compositions with a lot of Physical Damage and assassins.
There are lots of guides available for you to understand which items you should build for which specific situations. So do a proper research and understand what items should be built on your mains.
Just Don’t Die
It is very important to focus on playing constantly and not on dying. Try to avoid the things that you think will kill you. The competition is all about the making the least or no mistakes. So focusing on positioning yourself safely is more important than the grabbing one cannon minion.
During the lower Elos, games are often bloodbaths with champions dying left and right. Because players that don’t die a lot aren’t in those Elos anymore.
This is the reason you should always play champions that are comfortable on. By this you will spend less time looking at your abilities and more time on thinking about wards, junglers and dying. You can observe that you will win games more easily by taking the farm efficiently than mindlessly trying to defeat your enemy team. Dying means less farm, and farm is important, so consider the risks of every move you make while playing.
