Intel and ESL Gaming Highlight Renewal of 20-Year Partnership with Major Three-Year Deal to Invest $100 million in Esports.
Intel has renewed its long-standing partnership with ESL Gaming for another three years. This partnership will continue into 2022, at which time will begin a new era for this relationship. During this period, the companies will invest $100M USD in esports over three years. This renewal also secures the establishment of an Intel Extreme Masters event through 2025. The deal will bring Intel and ESL’s collaboration to its 20-year anniversary.

According to a release, to date ESL and Intel have hosted 82 events in the Intel Extreme Masters series. The companies will continue to develop their collaboration by bringing new IEM events and expanding their competition brands across the globe.
The renewal is a continuation of ESL and Intel’s latest deal which took place in 2016 and made Intel the global technical partner of ESL.
Founder and Co-CEO at ESL, Ralf Reichert commented “ESL and Intel have worked side by side on growing esports for nearly two decades. We built a number of cornerstones of this industry together and helped many gamers in becoming legends of the sport. The long-term extended partnership with Intel opens even more opportunities for us to take our efforts to a whole different level on a global scale.”
As ESL’s Global Technical Partner, Intel will deliver technology solutions that will power all pro-level tournaments and events – including the best gaming CPU, the Intel® Core™ i9 Processor, and Intel® Xeon® processors to power ESL’s world class production.
Vice President and General Manager of VR, Gaming and Esports at Intel Corporation, John Bonini commented – “This joint investment with ESL into the ecosystem means that the esports growth and innovation that we’ve led over the past two decades will continue.
