Is GTX 1060 good in 2020?

It’s happened before and now it’s happening again whenever a new generation graphic card sets a whole new level of benchmark for enthusiast gamers placing them on a cross road of whether to choose the previous series or latest ones and budget being the main problem.

So now as RTX has entered the market, concerns are being made that IS BUYING NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 worth it still in 2020? Well if you want a spontaneous answer then YES unless you crave a decent 1080p gaming and if you are planning to buy it in a year or so . The Reason you are here regarding the arrised concern should be Due to RTX series release of NVIDIA, and if you’re not then, well it should be.

》Well now that you are planning to buy GeForce GTX 1060 graphic card ,you must know that with the announcement of RTX feature in gaming ,it’s not gonna be like the GTX series of graphic card will die out. Well you shouldn’t be concerned with this if you you want to do decent gaming of 1080p like most of gamers with average budget do. There is still a huge buyer base and will be for the old models of graphics card.

》The GeForce GTX 1060 is even best if you intend to play games in 2010s[Here I am talking about the games like Assassins creed series, watchdogs, call of duty etc], it’s still even unclear that will the gaming companies will implement the RTX features in their games to provide realistic graphics with incredible realistic lightning.

You can still enjoy gaming at 60fps on Ultra

It’s a perfect choice for a gamer especially you are strictly restricted to you budget.

》Coming back to GTX 1060, this card is just perfect if you are a beginner and don’t know which graphic card to buy at this time. And even this was my first choice since I decided to build my gaming pc.

On high settings,it gives 50 to 55fps on an average with almost stable frame rate and if you hear anyone say that there are greater drops in fps then it’s problem caused by CPU.

  • Assassins creed Origins(recently tested)
  • Enjoyed all previous AC games
  • Tomb raider
  • AC Odyssey

Or to describe in a line ,most promising experience in AAA Games.

Features:

  • Cudacores:1280
  • ROPs:48
  • Memory clock:8GHz
  • Memorybandwidth:192Gb ps

Which one should you buy? 3gb or the 6gb version?

This is question is as important as choosing the type of graphic card to buy.

The basic difference between these two is that th 6gb version of Nvidia GTX 1060 has quite strong GPU than the 3gb version and there is still a slight difference in VRam which doesn’t matter in this case but a strong GPU. So my personal choice is to go for the 6gb one and would also recommend others but still even spending 1 buck more restricts you then you can still go for th 3gb one.

It’s the best time to buy.

GTX 1060 is at its cheapest cost right now , the also reason behind this is Nvidia is trying to clear the remaining stocks of the graphic card. That’s why buying this is like now or never.

There are still chances that most of the time you will get cheaper prices for the refurbished ones as most of them are selling on eBay with the announcement of the RTX 30 series . So my sole opinion would be try to get new one only.

Reason No 2: We all do know that graphic card of any kind won’t last forever, most of them have average lifetime of 5 -6 years . So even if you have decided to buy or just bought GTX 1060 , by the time you are ready to upgrade you can save up for the RTX 30 series which will be cheaper by then and more mainstream.

It’s Future proof:

If we are talking about the future of this graphic card if you want to play games like Cyberpunk 2077, iron harvest then obviously these games will need more stronger GPU and graphic card but still you will be able to play future games on low settings with average frame rate of 40-45

Hence putting this whole article into final conclusion, Just go for Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 if you are making a budget pc for enjoying a wholesome time of 1080p gaming
